Meeting This Saturday January 24

Hi,

It seems like a very long time since we had a meeting.  I am really looking forward to catching up with everyone, the block swap and of course show and tell.

We will be meeting at Bernina at 10:30 am.  I think the weather is going to cooperate.  Jill Green will be doing a paper piecing refresher and skill building demo.

Here are a few ideas for paper piecing prior to our meeting on Saturday.
Joanna over at Shape Moth hosted a block of the month paper piecing.  One of the blocks is below.

Faith over at Fresh Lemons has a nice paper piecing tutorial and also did a summer sampler series

I am looking forward to the demo and paper piecing refresher.

We will also have a sew in from 1-4 pm.  A few of those that attended the retreat were interested in making a sweater like Carrie's. Carrie has volunteered to help those interested at the sew in.  Several of us will bring sergers and Bernina will have staff available to help with serging.

The sweater can be made without a serger.  There are several other ways to finish the edge.

Here is one idea from a new Donna Karan vogue pattern using a corded edge.

Other ideas could be to utilize tape yarn, rolled hem, twin needle or one of the cool decorative stiches many of us have on our machines.

See you all on Saturday.
